Sam Smith just shared some super scary information about his health that forced him to cancel his entire Australian tour. The Brit singing sensation took to Instagram to share with his fans that he has a haemorrhage on his vocal chords and needs to take it easy until it’s all healed. He captioned the announcement with a crying emoji and seems to be heartbroken to do this to his fans, saying, “This kills me.”
Following the announcement, Sam’s Instagram feed was flooded with message of support from his loyal fans.
“Get well soon Sam, sending all my love your way,” wrote one fan while another reminded him, “Get well soon baby love, don’t worry about anything, your health is our priority! Hope you will be okay soon baby. Take care.”
This is definitely scary news – fellow British singing sensation Adele had a similar health issue in 2011 and was forced to cancel shows. She underwent vocal cord surgery, but it really pressed pause on her live shows. In fact, her last 90-minute set was in September 2011 (although she also had a baby in that time). Adele is working on her third studio album, and we hope her recovery encourages Sam!
