Panera Bread Plans To Remove Artificial Ingredients By End Of 2016

When last night’s McDonald’s run has you feeling guilty, you probably stroll into Panera Bread for a salad (well…and a side of mac and cheese) and veg out with friends. Panera is already on the top of our lunch list since, ya know, they give you real silverware as oppose to eating off a napkin. Plus, it’s one of the “healther” food chains. Now they’re going the extra mile by promising to remove artificial additives from their food. The company is publishing a list of 150 ingredients including artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, and preservatives that they have eliminated or intend to remove from Panera Bread and St. Louis Bread Co. bakery-cafe food menus by the end of 2016.
Panera is the first national restaurant company in the U.S. to publicly share a comprehensive list of ingredients that will be removed from or never appear in its menu items, a news release from the company says. This move comes recently after Chipotle announced they are getting rid of GMOs in their foods.
So indulge in those salads, soups, and sandwiches (and slice of bread – you deserve it) guilt-free!
