It’s been eleven long years since we were first introduced to Cady (however you want to pronounce it) and The Plastics. But who wasn’t totally intrigued by Regina’s “cool mom” played by the impeccable Amy Poehler? From her aisle dancing at the Christmas show to serving the girls up a hump day treat, her time of screen was short but so, so sweet. Maybe women in their mid to late 40’s are just as interesting and catty as high schoolers. At least that’s what the producers of the newly announced Mean Girls spin-off Mean Moms are hoping.
You might vaguely recall a sequel to Mean Girls, or you might not since it went straight to television and included literally no one from the original movie so it didn’t deserve to bare the name of Mean Girls. Hopefully Mean Moms will center around characters played by Kristen Wiig and Amy Poehler, or at very least Tina Fey will be involved (no word on any of this yet). What we do know is that the screenplay will also be adapted from a Rosalind Wiseman book. While Mean Girls was loosely based on Queen Bees & Wannabes, this new film will draw inspiration from Queen Bee Moms And King Pin Dads: Dealing With The Parents, Teachers, Coaches, And Counselors Who Can Make — or Break — Your Child’s Future.
Wait…do moms have burn books too?
