Ariana Grande on a 'Feminist Rampage'

If there is anything Ariana Grande wants to make clear at this point in time, it is that she is not going to put up with reporters and the media focusing more on her love life than her music.
She made this abundantly clear when she tweeted this Sunday:

Grande does an awesome job of breaking down the double standard, not just in the music industry but in society as a whole, explaining it so eloquently as, “If a man has sex… HE’S. A. STUD. a BOSSSSSS. a KING. If a woman even TALKS¬†about sex openly… she is shamed!”
And then continues on, in what may be my favorite line of the whole speech, to say “If a woman is seen with a friend with a penis, there is an immediate assumption of romance or sex and she is labeled!!”
Months after her breakup with singer Big Sean broke, it seems what sparked this ‘feminist rampage’ is that there have been rumors she was dating Niall Horan of One Direction, especially after she was seen leaving his house in the early hours of the morning.
Grande told Mirror:

People don’t ask the men. It’s like, ‘Is that the only thing we have to talk about? Is that the only thing women are relevant for is their relationship with men?’ No.
We’re absolutely perfectly fine on our own and we can talk about our music, our work, our kick-ass tours around the world. Why don’t we talk about that as opposed to who we’re currently flirting with?

While women defying traditional sexiest standards is not exactly breaking news lately, it is still refreshing to see someone, especially as young as Grande, speaking out against the crap she doesn’t think is right, and showing she has more to offer than just the voice of an angel¬†her great vocal skills.
PREACH, Ariana!
