Have you had a hard time convincing your boyfriend/little brother/any male in your life to join you on your dream vacation to the City of Lights? Would they rather go somewhere more manly and less full of culture? You might have a new advantage in convincing them to book a flight to Paris: a new art sculpture is about to become the most Instagram-worthy spot in France.
British-Indian sculptor Anish Kapoor has sparked an uproar in France by installing a huge work of “art” on the grounds of the Palace of Versailles that is a vagina. This isn’t some joke. He didn’t mean to make a nice flower. It doesn’t resemble a vagina if you squint your eyes a certain way. He intentionally made a giant steel vajayjay. Kapoor claims that the sculpture represents “the vagina of a queen who’s taking power.”

Told you. Gaping. Lady. Parts. In the middle of one of France’s most famous and historical tourist traps destinations.
This isn’t even the only scandalous piece by Kapoor at Versailles – a canon that fired red wax at white walls in a symbol of phallus and ejaculation of blood is inside the palace. You might need to get that problem checked out, buddy.
The French are choking on their baguettes over these art pieces, dubbing the installation a “scandal.” And let’s be honest, I’ve been to the Palace of Versailles and it’s breathtakingly beautiful. The last thing I need is a group of middle schoolers on a field trip giggling in the gardens and tourists lining up to take a photo in front of a giant vagina. But honestly, I’d probably want to put that pic in my scrapbook too.
But here’s the good news: As long as you head over to France by November (when the exhibit ends) and make “Dirty Corner” a spot on your tour, your twelve-year-old bro will be entertained for days. Paris, here you come. Let the rusty vag jokes fly.
