As an indecisive girl like myself, you always have to ask at least three different people what they would choose before making up your mind. You consider all the possibilities and rationalize between the positives and negatives. And if you make the wrong choice you go to the ends of the Earth to change it or live in regret. Here are some things an indecisive girl can never make her mind up on.
1. What clothes to wear.
Sometimes it is so confusing to pick out which top goes with what bottom, what jewelry to wear, shoes that will match, as well as how you want to hair and makeup to look. Only once in a blue moon will we know exactly what we want to wear, because we’ve planned it out in advance (like a Halloween costume).
2. Deciding what (and where) to eat.
Especially if you live in the suburbs or the city, where there are all types of different cuisines to choose from. We look online from customer reviews to if they are or aren’t offering a deal. Or if you are eating in, it can take a while deciding what food you feel like making.
3. Choosing what to buy.
We all know the feeling when you go into a store and feel completely overwhelmed on where to start first. You look around and carry what you like on your arm until it hurts and the store assistant asks if she can start a dressing room. This happens about two more times until your posse tells you to hurry up, because even watching you run around the store looks exhausting. Then you go to try each outfit on, coming out behind the curtain to ask for everyone’s opinion. You weigh the options, such as price, how many times you’re actually going to wear this, and how many there are left. Because if you decide not to buy it, leave the store, and change your mind, you could drive yourself crazy trying to find it again.
4. What nail polish to have on your nails.
This takes me years to figure out which color nail polish to choose from. I usually pick 5 different colors from the rack, paint one color on each nail, take a picture and send it to my friends asking which one they like best. The one with the most votes wins!
5. Which hair cut to get at the hair salon.
Have you been on Google looking at hair styles of famous celebrities? Or looking for long, short, wavy, curly, straight, blonde, brown, and black hair ideas in hair style books? There can be way too many choices to pick from! Should you even think about bangs?
6. What to do during the day.
When you don’t have any set plans, it can be difficult making a plan for the day. Should you go to the gym, food shop, clothes shop, or see your friends? And if so in what order?
7. Choosing what college to go to.
This is an important yet stressful decision to make. Of course you have to visit each college and see what makes each school different. This calls for weighing the positives and negatives, talking to people who go or graduated from each school, and finding which one gives you the most in scholarship money.
8. What to tell others when they ask what you want for any special occasion.
Whenever someone asks you what you want, you never know what to say because you always think of something later on that’s better. You want to make sure that when the special occasion comes that you still want what you told them to get you, or that could make for one awkward moment. It helps to just write a list of things you want on your phone when something ever comes to your mind in case you forget.
9. Which movie to go and see.
Have you ever wanted to go see a movie, and the time it took you to figure out which one you wanted to see was the same amount of time as the duration of the actual movie? Have you watched trailer after trailer and then just given up and picked one based on which one was playing next? Next time, just do your friends a favor and let them choose.
10. Deciding where you want to work.
Finding a job can be a hard decision to make because you think that whatever you choose you’re stuck with. Just because you majored in something you don’t want to do for the rest of your life doesn’t mean you have to! Just do something your passionate about or something you never thought of doing before, and even at first if you’re not entirely sure, just go with it and see what happens.
Life is full of decisions. And an indecisive girl knows how to make the right ones the hard way.
