Attention NYC: Last "Manhattanhenge 2015" Is Tonight At Sunset

Have you ever seen the sun set in New York City? Well, it is definitely a sight you should not miss. There are special nights during the year when some of the best sunsets occur called Manhattanhenge. In 2015 there have been two so far on May 29th and July 12th. The third and last Manhattanhenge of 2015 will appear tonight!

When will it occur?

Sunset, or 8:21 P.M. EDT.

Where are the best places to see it?

14th, 23rd, 34th, 42nd and 57th streets. Also, the Empire State building and the Chrysler buildings are good sightings as well.

What is Manhattanhenge and who made it a well known term?

Hayden Planetarium Director Neil deGrasse Tyson. He said it was when the sun lined up with cross streets before setting. He said it reminded him of Stonehenge, where the sun aligns with ancient stones.
