WATCH: Miss USA 2015 Delivered Some Cringe-Worthy Interview Fails

As usual, the most entertaining part of the Miss USA (or any) pageant was not the stunning ballgowns or the sexy bikinis – it was the interview question. This year, two ladies of the final five totally flubbed their chance to sound intelligent, making viewers who swore off potato chips about an hour earlier feel slightly better about themselves.
Miss Rhode Island, Anea Garcia, was the first keep up with the tradition of pageant contestants of choking in the last round.
She was asked, “Recently comedian Jerry Seinfeld spoke out against political correctness in our culture. Do you think political correctness is hurting or helping our culture and why?”
“That’s a very good question. I think that it’s a balance of both. We definitely need … I’m sorry, may you please repeat the question once more,” Garcia says, before attempting to answer again. “I think that it’s a balance of both. We need … we need the people to remind us, especially politicians, to remind us what to do right and what to do wrong, and it’s never …” she says before being cut off for time.

Miss Nevada didn’t fare much better.
She was asked, “What would you do to improve race relations in the U.S.? Please be specific.”
“What I would do to improve race relations in the U.S. is get more races grouped together and be able to be with each other in a … in a non … let’s see … I apologize,” she says before finishing her answer. “I think what we need to do is bring — we need to be more accepting of each other and we need to bring people together, that’s what I think we need to do.”

Eek. No wonder neither of them took home the crown. That went to Miss Oklahoma, Olivia Jordan, who donned a Barbie-pink dress that I can only assume was designed by her little cousin.

To be fair, you’d probably be nervous about answering a question about your favorite color on national television, especially when you haven’t eaten in months.
