Can’t get OMI’s “Cheerleader” or Taylor Swift‘s “Bad Blood” out of your head? No worries. Carly Rae Jepsen can do that for you!
In anticipation of her new album, Emotion, due out on August 21st, Jepsen dropped yet another catchy single on Friday, July 17, titled “Run Away With Me,” which will absolutely be your new summer sing-along.
With its debut came the music video which is giving us a serious case of wanderlust as we watch in first-person view the singer happily prance around the world while taking on new adventures and singing about finding love.
“I didn’t even know we were making a music video until about halfway through it,” Jepsen said in a statement about the David Kalani Larkins-directed video. “David always has a camera in his hand and he has a way about him that makes you forget that it’s there. It became a part of our daily adventure on the road to film as we went. Promo tour can be a blur and I can remember watching over his shoulder as he uploaded the footage, recounting memories of the trip that I had almost already forgotten. This project became a way for us to slow down time and preserve the moments from magical places like Paris, New York and Japan.”
Before the entire album becomes available, the “Call Me Maybe” crooner will drop three other songs: “Warm Blood” on July 31st, “Making the Most of the Night” on August 7th and “Your Type” on August 14th for fans who pre-ordered the album.
And if you like what you’ve heard so far from Emotion, including the title track, “I Really Like You,” and “All That,” then stay tuned for more smash hits from the superstar who collaborated with Sia, Greg Kurstin, Ariel Rechtshaid, Devonté Hynes, Rostam Batmanglij and others.
