Should You Take 'Bitch' as a Compliment?

Although society has been more accepting of living life how you want to live it, there’s still this pressure us girls feel sometimes. Society says we should have an hour-glass figure, big boobs, long flowing hair, and our makeup on point.
By the time we’re 25, we should have our careers on track or we better know how to whip up a meal like Rachael Ray and clean up better than Molly. Not to mention, our guy wants us to be a lady in the street, freak in the sheets, and willing to pop out a baby on demand.
Call us Super Woman if we can do it all as expected, or call us bitches because we can’t.
So what is a bitch, exactly? A female dog, a sassy woman, your best friend, your worst enemy, a complainer, whiner, or modern-day servant.
Truthfully, it’s a term that’s become a staple in our language with far too many meanings. You’re a “little bitch” when you flake out. You’re “my bitch” when I tell you what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. You’re a “f*cking bitch” when you one-up someone with your sassy attitude. The term “bitch” is even used as a term of endearment, like when he’s hitting it, pulling your hair and shouting, “Come on bitch, faster.” Or how Kanye West uses it to talk about Kim Kardashian, his “Perfect Bitch.”
But when it comes down to it, in one way or another, we really are bitches. Let’s get serious. The word has so many meanings that it’s kind of impossible not to be labeled one. So why not embrace it? Instead of bitching about getting called a bitch, we should really learn to take it as a compliment because regardless of what it means to everyone else, there is only one true definition of a bitch. Well, at least from a girl’s perspective.
BITCH: A girl who is not afraid to speak her mind, follow her heart and face the world with her middle fingers up.
That’s right. A bitch is really someone who isn’t tied down to the limitations of society. She knows what she wants and no one is stopping her. She loves when you tell her no because she knows she can. And will. A bitch doesn’t care what you have or what you have to say, because a bitch marches to the beat of her own drum.
So the next time someone calls you a bitch, simply channel your inner diva by giving a little hair flip while you walk away and say, “BYE FELICIA!”
