Get ready for some country breakup songs. Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are calling it quits after four years of marriage. The country singers tied the knot in Texas in 2011, after dating for six years.
“This is not the future we envisioned,” the couple’s representatives said in a statement to The Associated Press Monday. “And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
We can’t say we’re too shocked by the news. Although they seemed like a perfect couple on paper, rumors of Blake, 39, cheating as well as infidelity on the part of Miranda, 31, seem to have taken their toll on the marriage, true or not.
Back in 2013, Lambert told Huffington Post that “divorce was not an option” even if times were tough. Looks like these two didn’t have a choice.
