Back in the day if you wore glasses, you were called Four Eyes, a geek, a dork, a nerd, and every other word that pretty much left you feeling like you were the furthest thing from sexy while you hid behind these clunky things on your face. Now fast forward to the 21st century: If you’re a chick rockin’ a nice pair of hipster glasses (you know, the black oversized frames) guys are paying way more attention to you. Basically, you can now consider yourself eye candy. All of a sudden you’re this totally hot chick who looks so innocent, but deep down is probably a mischievous little devil.
So what is it about girls with glasses today? One word: FANTASY.
It doesn’t matter if it’s the chick next to you in class, the girl you just met at the bar or your favorite character in a movie. She can be a freckle-faced ginger with short hair or a brunette with long wavy locks. If she’s got a pair of glasses on…it’s all over for the guys. It drives them wild. It’s their good-girl-gone-bad image that has these guys fantasizing about them.
You know, the one where she looks like the girl you’d find in the library reading about Shakespeare, but at the same time you can totally see right through her: She’s DTF. This is the same girl you can picture popping open a button or two on her shirt as she lowers her glasses a bit, whispering to you “follow me to the science lab.”
That’s the whole fantasy, or charm, behind these girls who wear glasses – they simply exude this sort of intellectual sexiness that girls without glasses just can’t, and don’t. And for that same reason, the idea of a geeky girl with a seductive side will always intrigue men.
With that being said, today, we are seeing more and more girls wearing glasses for other reasons than the obvious. They’re trying to make a fashion statement. They want to feel sexier. And they want to feel smarter, too.
And because there are so many different frames on the market, girls who wear glasses can now wear their personality, or their character, on their…face, too. As previously mentioned, if a girl’s wearing big, thick frames, you can consider her a hipster. If she’s got small, rimless frames, she’s probably nerdy, and if she’s wearing colorful frames, you know she’s on the artsy side.
Besides, guys love the idea of their chicks wearing glasses even if they’re not prescribed because of how they can drastically change their look. It’s the mystery behind those glasses that has four eyes looking so good.
