Experts, who we’re assuming had nothing better to do, asked 500 women which words make their skin crawl. You get one guess as to which tops the list…yup, once again we prove that people absolutely hate the word “moist.”
Some of the words had unpleasant sounds, but most of the cringing comes from words that bring up sexual connotations. “The common denominator seems to be disgust, either toward bodily functions or sex,” Paul Thibodeau, a language psychologist at Oberlin College. Check out the full list.

Turns out, these experts could have just asked us. Just over a month ago we talked about words that totally gross us out, and four of these six words made our list! We have nothing against chunky (as long as we’re talking about peanut butter), but flap is a pretty annoying word.
