Chipotle Has Officially Raised Its Prices

Please don’t cry.
I thought Chipotle was done causing excessive pain to its patrons after this summer’s carnitas drought (I suppose the pain will never stop until guacamole is free). If you’re a fan of Chipotle’s slow-roasted barbacoa or steak slices, not only are you already paying more for your beloved burritos (carnitas forever), but beginning today, the meat will cost you an extra 4 to 6 percent in all burritos, bowls, tacos and salads. That means you’re paying between 29 and 43 cents extra on your once $7.20 steak/barbacoa burrito.
It doesn’t seem like much, but if those extra 29 to 43 cents stand between you and guacamole, you’re going to be a little upset.
Chris Arnold, the chain’s communications direction, states that the continuous rise of beef prices is the reason for this price rise. He also said that last year was the first time in three years that Chipotle raised their prices as a result of “persistent food inflation.”
Thank God for people learning how to “hack” Chiptole in order to get the most bang for his or her buck.
