‘Toy Story 4’ Is Going To Be About A Romance Between Woody & Bo Peep

Hold onto your (cowboy) hats, people, because the details on Disney’s Toy Story 4 are out!
In an interview with CNBC at Disney’s D23 Expo, a biannual convention where the company gives fans a sneak peek at its future releases, Pixar Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter claimed the latest installment in the series will not exactly pick up where Toy Story 3 left off; it’ll go in a new direction.

It’s a love story with Woody and — and this is news — Bo Peep…At Pixar and at Disney, we only make sequels if we come up with a story that’s as good or better than the original. That’s our rule. We don’t do things just to print money.

Um…that last part is highly debatable because I think we can all agree Toy Story 3 would have been a perfect ending to Woody, Buzz, and the gang’s story. But am I willing to give fourth-quel a shot? Of course. Because I’ll watch any Tom Hanks movie, even if I only hear his voice. Even if he’s a cowboy trying to court a sheep herder.
We’ll have until 2017 to pretend Toy Story was the greatest animated film trilogy in history.
