VIDEO: Two Dead After Gunman Opens Fire During Live News Broadcast In Moneta, Virginia

A gunman opened fire on a news crew during a live television interview Wednesday morning in Moneta, Virginia, killing a reporter and cameraman.
The footage is pretty horrific, but watch as in the middle of an interview that occurred around 6:45 am, gunshots are fired before hearing screams from the reporter and the camera tips over. A shadowy figure that appears to be the gunman can then be seen. The live feed was then cut and the station returned to a shocked anchor in the newsroom.

Allison Parker, 24, the reporter seen in the clip, and cameraman Adam Ward, 27, were killed. They were both dating other people at the news station. Sadly, Ward’s fiancée was reportedly on her last day working in the control room of the station when the shooting happened. Allison Parker’s boyfriend was anchor Chris Hurst, and the two had been together for nine months.

The woman being interviewed was also shot in the back and is in surgery.
WDBJ said on Facebook, “Law enforcement is on scene at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta. The incident involves a WDBJ7 crew. We don’t have any additional details.”
The suspect is not in custody. Schools in the area are on lock down while police find the shooter.

Update, 10:30 am

Police are pursuing the shooter in a car chase on Interstate 64, who is reportedly a former disgruntled employee of the news station.
