Celebs Team Up For Important PSA About Campus Sexual Assault

Did you know that one in five students will experience sexual assault during their years at college? The even scarier part is that 95% of U.S. campus rapes go unreported. The White House has recruited some of the biggest names in Hollywood to get the word out about consent in a new PSA entitled “It’s On Us: One Thing.” Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Matt McGorry, Jessica Szhor, Josh Hutcherson, Jesse Metcalfe, and the band Haim show us the reality about when it’s okay to get intimate.
“Consent: If you don’t get it, you don’t get it,” Hutcherson and Saldana say in the campaign video. And sex without it? “It’s rape.”

This PSA is part of a larger White House initiative that focuses on getting both men and women to take personal responsibility to stop sexual assault on college campuses.
The campaign’s first PSA from September 2014 included Jon Hamm, Kerry Washington, Questlove, Rose Byrne, and President Obama. It’s received nearly 3 million views on YouTube.
