Azealia Banks Slams Mainstream Artists While Pushing For Idris Elba To Play James Bond

Azealia Banks

Azealia Banks is not a stranger to Twitter beef so it was no surprise when she decided to go on a Twitter rant this morning to give her two cents on the Idris Elba playing James Bond debate. In addition, she decided to throw down the gauntlet at Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, and the almighty Queen Bey.

In the beginning on Banks’ crazy Twitter rant, Banks expressed that she felt Idris was “too much man” to play James Bond and how she felt that Idris is being criticized for playing Bond because of the “white male insecurity in Hollywood.”

Then we opened up a whole other can of worms after she decided to go at Miley Cyrus, T. Swift, and Nicki Minaj by calling them “whack” and “basic.”

Check out some of Azealia’s tweets down below:

Azealia also recently stated the reason why her brand is damaged because of the media (but, honestly doesn’t it seems she’s digging her own grave here?). She has also stated that her music hasn’t been blown up the charts because she hasn’t gotten “bleached her skin, gotten a nose job and butt injections yet.”

Azealia Banks’ argument really makes no sense. I agree with her in relation to Idris Elba playing James Bond because truth be told, the role is tailor-made for him and it would be amazing to see a man of color play Bond for a change.

On the other hand, I do not think that she needed to play the race card when it came to this issue on her music not being on the charts. The reason why her music isn’t getting as much buzz as other artists does not necessarily have something to do with her skin color – there are plenty of artists of color who have gained popularity. The fact of the matter is fame relates to talent. If you do not have the talent, you will not make headlines. It’s as simple as that. Her whole Twitter rant was just uncalled for.

If you had to use one word to describe Ashley it would be: optimistic. She has always had a love for writing since the 1st grade. She loves anything that allows her to be creative from playing the drums, dance and even singing. She is also completely obsessed with Tumblr and anything related to fashion.
