The NFL really loves Bruno Mars…to the point that they have ask him to perform for the Super Bowl’s golden anniversary. According to a few sources, Bruno Mars has been offered the headliner spot for the Super Bowl 50 halftime performance.
Mars was the headliner for Super Bowl XLVIII back in 2014 along with a guest appearance by the Red Hot Chill Peppers. His performance was the most watch halftime performance ever until Katy Perry‘s performance broke the record the following year. But Bruno Mars just seems to be a legend in the making thanks to his contributing vocals to Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk.”
We definitely wouldn’t mind seeing the Hawaiian crooner take the halftime stage again, but there would have to be some crazy guest performers to make it stand out from his previous performance. Plus, this is number 50! It has to be huge. We think Mars has the chops to headline the extravaganza.
Entertainment Weekly is still wanting on responses from both the NFL and reps for Bruno Mars. The Super Bowl is set to air February 7, 2016, but in the meantime, enjoy Bruno Mars halftime performance from 2014.
