After Virginia dad, Jared Cramer, found out his daughter, Julia, ran her cell phone bill up over $500, he decided to take an unconventional method to teach her a lesson. Jared placed all of Julia’s clothing, makeup, and jewelry in the closet and locked them up.
After Julia called her dad to inform him about the $541.36 cell phone bill, Cramer instantly thought up this tough love approach to teach his 13-year-old a thing or two about her constant cell phone use.
To add insult to injury, he even placed Post-It notes on every item, stating the amount of chores she would need to do in order to get all of her things back.

While most of us would throw a temper tantrum to rival a hungry toddler, Julia has kept a great attitude about this whole situation. Cramer said Julia has been working hard to pay her dad off for the cell phone bill.
Cramer stated,
She thought after I got that bill it was going to be a slap on the wrist, don’t let it happen again situation, but I think she’s been taking it pretty well. She said, ‘You know what dad, I know you love me, I know I messed up, and I’m gonna work this off.’
It’s easy to just ground a kid for a day or two and not really talk to them about it. It’s better for parents to stand up for themselves and have the kids take the consequences.
What do you think? Do you agree with Jared’s interesting parenting technique or do you think he went a little too far?
