After the success of live musicals The Sound of Music (starring Carrie Underwood) and this year’s The Wiz (featuring an all star cast of with Amber Riley, Queen Latifah, Ne-Yo, Uzo Aduba, and more), Fox is getting in on the fun with the musical everyone and their mother knows every word to: Grease.
Sure, it’s following NBC’s 2015 version of The Wiz by nearly two months, but with such a beloved movie musical to work with, this Fox version should get all the ratings (and then some). I happen to know because I’ve been fangirling over Aaron Tveit, aka Danny Zucko, for years.
Jessie J will even open the live event with a new version of “Grease (Is the Word).”
