While we were pushing for another Ellen DeGeneres-led event or even a tag team of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to take it on, the host of the 88th Academy Awards gets our approval. Chris Rock will return to host the Oscars for a second time, producers David Hill and Reginald Hudlin announced Wednesday.
“I’m so glad to be hosting the Oscars,” Rock said. “It’s great to be back.”
He also tweeted a photo of himself confirming the announcement.

It will be more than a decade since Rock hosted the awards show in 2005, but we think the comedian, actor, writer, producer, and director will quickly find his way around the Oscar stage again.
Are you excited that Chris Rock will be this year’s Oscars host?
