Josh Sundquist might have lost his leg to cancer when he was 9 years old, but he definitely hasn’t lost his sense of humor. The former Paralympian and motivational speaker has been owning Halloween for years, using his lack of a left leg as an opportunity for creative and hilarious costumes. For example, he hass dressed up at the leg lamp from A Christmas Story and the Gingerbread Man from Shrek (not the gumdrop buttons!).
He explained on his blog that he deals with his amputation by being funny:
“I’ve always dealt with the social discomfort of my disability by having a sense of humor. But I used to be much more self-conscious…But now I’m more comfortable with who I am and what I look like, and I guess with these Halloween costumes you could even say that I celebrate what makes me different. Which may be either weird or refreshing, depending on your perspective.”
Yesterday, Sundquist unveiled this year’s Halloween costume on Instagram, and the irony isn’t lost on us.
Seriously…you have no excuse for dressing up as a cat this weekend.
It’s going to be hard for Josh to top this year’s ensemble, but looking at his past creations, we know next year will be just as interesting.
