When you think workwear, you think blazers. You probably picture a no-nonsense outfit of plain pants (the kind that could be described as “slacks”) and a tailored blazer over a crisp button-down. But the truth is, there are so many other, more fun ways to style the jacket.

I would definitely suggest splurging on a nice blazer that fits you well and falls beautifully because honestly? There are so many ways to wear one. Go for a blazer that hits a bit lower than your hips for a more modern look or a boxy, cropped jacket for something a bit more polished. Here are five ways I love to wear a blazer.

1. For class

Pair that blazer with slouchy boyfriend jeans, a cozy tee and some slip-on sneakers, and go. It doesn’t get any easier or more comfortable, but thanks to the blazer, the look is still pulled-together. It totally looks like you made an effort even if you totally didn’t.

2. For a date

Balance out the formality of a blazer with some simple skinny jeans. Tuck in your top to show off your shape a bit, add some fun heels and a bag that shows off your personality, and go!

3. For brunch

Keep it cozy for Saturday pancakes in a blazer, a big old slouchy scarf, some leggings, and a big satchel. Add sunglasses because, let’s be real, you’re probably hungover.

4. For a concert

Rock out in an oversized band tee, some leather leggings, brightly colored pumps, and a cool clutch. You’re winning live music fashion.

5. For a night out

Top off a cute mini dress with your blazer of choice, add your favorite pair of heels, and you’re all set for wherever the night takes you.
