Let’s be honest, Selena Gomez has been killin’ it lately. Despite being open about her recent diagnosis with Lupus and taking a hiatus from the spotlight for a while, the pop star’s latest album “Revival” was released two weeks ago and her single, “Good For You” with A$AP Rocky has become a smash hit. (It’s so catchy, amirite?!)
Yet now the 23-year-old has another project on the horizon- her own Netflix miniseries. The actress-turned singer is going back to her roots to executive produce 13 Reasons Why, based on the young adult novel of the same name by Jay Asher. If you’ve ever read this book, you must be internally hyperventilating like I am. I sobbed my way through that book back in high school.
In the novel, Hannah Baker is a high school student who commits suicide and explains why she did it through a series of cassette tapes she gives to a boy named Clay. Although there is no release date, keep your eyes peeled. The plot may sound super depressing, and it is, but with Selena a part of it, how can we not watch?
