Human Remains Buried Over 100 Years Ago Found Steps From NYU

Don’t piss someone off in New York City. Apparently, it might take over 100 years for someone to find your bones.
Construction workers in NYC were just doing their thing, upgrading old water mains along Washington Square Park East, steps from several New York University campus buildings. Things turned a bit spooky when they discovered a 19th century burial vault that contained a pile of human bones. They estimate the remains belonged to a dozen or more people.
Just when you thought Halloween was over.
Although Washington Square Park was used as a burial ground after the Revolutionary War, it’s still a mystery who was buried here and how this vault survived undetected for so long.
