One-Hit Wonders are kind of tragic. It all begins with a musician or band who created a catchy pop song and who are subsequently thrown into the chaos of the rich and famous. Eventually, that fame and fortune is dissipates nearly as quickly as it came because the public has decided that their song is now either a headache or plain boring. Because the public decides the future of any musician or band, they have also decided that nothing will ever amount to that artist’s smash hit. Tragically, the musician or band falls out of the public eye and is left for dead.
Figuratively, not literally. I felt that the distinction needed to be made.
