A cancer diagnosis can easily tear people down. We all know someone who has passed away due to the disease, but one 25-year-old woman isn’t letting her battle with cancer get in the way of her modeling career.
Dayna Christison was just out of college at age 22 when she was diagnosed with Nodular Sclerosis Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Doctors told her the cancer was stage two, but she later learned it was likely stage four.
Despite going through chemotherapy, two stem cell transplants, and a clinical trial, Christison wanted to pursue a modeling career after taking some pictures with a photographer friend. This past summer, she landed a contract with international modeling agency Major Models.
Instead of wearing wigs, hats, or scarves to cover her bald head, Christison rocked her look, proving you don’t need long locks to look fierce.
“I refused to wear a wig or a scarf because, f*ck everyone else, that’s how I looked and I didn’t want to hide that because of what other people thought,” she told Buzzfeed.
