David Beckham isn’t just a star soccer player, he’s a model, endorsement deal dream, designer, and total DILF. He’s been in the public eye since he started playing football in 1992, but he’s just gotten more desirable since then. Between him and his fashionista/ex-Spice Girl wife Victoria Beckham, reports say the family is worth a cool $770 million. But how much of that did David earn?

David Beckham’s Net Worth as of 2015: $360 million

Not bad, Becks. Forbes says he ranks second behind Michael Jordan when it comes to the highest-paid retired athletes. Taking the title of PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive this year isn’t something to scoff at either.
So how did this beautiful Brit make his money? A lot of soccer practices and even more workouts to keep that body looking fine, I assume.
We break down how David Beckham made his millions below.

Beck’s claim to fame is his status as a soccer star. Beckham signed to the Manchester United team in 1991 as a young player and remained on the team for a decade. He also went to Preston North End on loan for part of the 1994–95 season to get some first team experience. He impressed, scoring two goals in five appearances.
Off the field, Beckham made headlines for his good looks and romantic relationship with Victoria Adams aka Posh Spice of the Spice Girls. The two wed in 1999 in an lavish affair that cost $800,000.

2003 – 2006

In 2003, Beckham joined reigning Spanish champions Real Madrid for €35 million on a four-year contract.

While still playing for Real Madrid, Beckham announced that he’d be leaving to play soccer in the USA for the LA Galaxy. Beckham’s deal with the Galaxy was a 5-year contract worth $32.5 million or $6.5 million per year.

Retirement has treated Beckham quite well.
Beckham inked a multi-million deal in February 2013 to be ambassador for the Chinese Super League, the country’s soccer association. He has since added agreements with China Auto Rental, Sands China (a division of Las Vegas Sands), Breitling, Sky Sports, Belstaff, and Adidas, among others.
For over a decade, Beckham has partnered with Coty for his signature fragrances.
Beckham partnered with Swedish retailer H&M in 2012 for a line of bodywear at 1,800 stores. The venture expanded with swimwear in 2014.
Beckham is potentially starting up a new Major League Soccer franchise. He was awarded the option to acquire an MLS expansion franchise when he joined the fledgling league in 2007. Beckham exercised the option a year ago at a price tag of $25 million.
