We love to oogle hot firemen and police officers who protect us on the daily, but we need to talk about New York City’s unsung heroes: taxi drivers.
Cabbies can easily be your savior on a night out. Whether an unexpected rainstorm decides to pummel you on the way to the subway or your new heels are not cooperating (it’s definitely the shoes, not the booze), your chariot appears in the form of a yellow taxi and you know you’re saved.
Inside awaits your savior, a middle-aged man with a dad bod beyond your wildest dreams warning you to please not vomit in the backseat. Life is just grand.
If you really want to impress your favorite New Yorker during the holidays, the NYC Taxi Drivers 2016 Calendar is the ticket.
Created by Shannon and Philip Kirkman as a comical take on those buff calendars we were all guilty of having at one point in our lives, each month depicts a sultry cab driver showing some skin.
Philip Kirkman told the New York Post, “There are many stereotypes against cabbies, and I hope these show people that cabbies are no different from you and I.”
The calendar costs $14.99, and a portion of the proceeds goes to University Settlement, America’s oldest settlement house which serves “over 30,000 immigrant and working individuals and families every year with basic services like quality education, housing, and literacy programs,” according to the calendar’s website.
Without further ado, feast your eyes on New York’s finest.
Your move, Uber.
