There’s a new hero in town, and her name is Tommitrise Collins.
Every knows giving birth to a human being is no casual event. You know what is also pretty rough? Taking a college exam. Now imagine doing both at the same time.
Which is exactly what Collins did this week.
While in labor, with her contractions just three minutes apart, Collins, from Macon, Georgia, took a Psychology exam online. According to Fox News, Collins is a 21-year-old student at Middle Georgia State University.
In regards to her 20-hour long labor, Collins told Fox, “It took me 4-5 hours after the opening of the test to try to put the pain to the side and do it so I wouldn’t have to do it later and I could enjoy my newborn. She is my life now, and the way I look at it is, she will always have me to depend on, so my goals will not be put on hold.”
The story was first posted by Collins sister, Shanell Brinkley-Chapman, who posted it on Facebook with a picture that had a caption reading, “This is what you call “Strong Priorities.” Contractions 3 minutes apart and still takes her Psychology Test! You are going to be a great Mom baby sis!”

Collins also said, “I don’t want to just barely make it by, I want my child to live comfortably, and I want to show people that just because I am considered a young mother doesn’t mean I have to be considered a bad mother.”
In addition to her new baby girl, Tyler Elise, Collins also managed to pass the test with a B.
So, you better think twice next time you feel like complaining about having to wake up early to go to class.
