It’s as yet unclear what happened in the lead-up to the alleged attack, but cops said that Polanco had invited Cardona to her home via text beforehand, The Post reports. Polanco’s defense lawyer Gerald Lefcourt says the actress has been set up, and that the teenager is trying to get money from her. On the Netflix hit, Polanco plays Dayanara Diaz, an inmate at Litchfield Penitentiary who gets pregnant after having an affair with a prison guard. On the show, she’s serving a prison stint for drugs. Let’s hope this is all a big misunderstanding and Polanco doesn’t see the inside of a jail cell unless she’s on set.
