Why Isn't Adele Nominated For Any 2016 Grammys?

The 58th Annual Grammy Award nominees have been announced, and while expected names like Taylor Swift and The Weeknd, one star was suspiciously absent.
Believe it or not, Adele was not nominated for one award, despite her new album 25 being virtually inescapable (not that I’m complaining).
Naturally, Twitter lost it.

But put down your pitchforks and torches, people. There’s a legit reason Adele as well as Justin Bieber and One Direction didn’t get nominated – they didn’t release their albums or singles within the eligibility date range.
“For the 58th Annual GRAMMY Awards, albums must be released between Oct. 1, 2014 and Sept. 30, 2015,” the Grammy’s website states in its outline of the rules and regulations regarding submissions.
As we know, Adele’s single “Hello” was released in late October and her album came out in mid-November, missing the deadline.
You got lucky this time, T. Swift.
So 2017 will be the year of Adele. Everyone else can pretty much stay home. Until then, we’re pretty sure her current 10 Grammys, Oscar, and other awards will keep her company.
