If you thought our obsession with “The Dress” was weird, you need to visit Japan. The viral trend sweeping the country involves squishing your baby’s face. Seriously.

It all start in June when Japanese comedian Masahiro Ehara posted a series of tweets where he squished his kids’ faces in the shape of a rice ball. From there, “Rice Ball Babies” photos flooded Twitter and other social media sites.

As the trend grew, babies weren’t the only victims. People are now squishing their friends’ faces, their own faces, and even their pets’ faces. Pretty much, no living being is immune to Rice Ball Babies photos.
