22-year old Lili Murphy-Johnson is aiming to change the stigma around menstruation with her jewelry collection of period-inspired accessories.
Yes, you read that correctly.
The London-based period-inspired collection features rings, hand-beaded panties and a charm bracelet. Regardless of whether you would wear these pieces out, the idea behind this jewelry collection is pretty interesting. Murphy-Johnson said she was inspired by her bad PMS. She sought to create jewelry that showed how she felt when she was being emotional.

In an interview with Broadly, Murphy-Johnson said:
“We need to be able to talk about periods more openly so that we don’t have these problems. That’s what I want to do with my jewelry. I want to create something that can be worn without shame or disgust.”
By turning period stains into beautiful jewelry, Murphy-Johnson is taking a massive step to destigmatize periods. It’s about time, too. Periods are a natural function of the female body – what’s so wrong about them?
Would you wear these pieces out in public? Let us know in the comments!
