Reese’s has been having kind of a rough holiday season so far.
There have been many unhappy customers posting on social media about how their chocolate and peanut butter treats look nothing like advertised on the package. What’s supposed to be a Christmas-tree shaped candy is actually just a rounded blob, many disappointed people have learned.
Of course, the fact that people are making such a fuss about the shape of their CANDY is absurd to begin with. I mean, really, talk about #firstworldproblems. But it has apparently become such an issue that Reese’s felt like it had to come back with a response. And it was epic.
But it has apparently become such an issue that Reese’s felt like it had to come back with a response. And it was epic.
The company recently posted a string of pictures to Twitter with the hashtag #AllTreesAreBeautiful. Taking a brilliant angle on the controversy, Reese’s decided to insinuate its customers were being overly judgmental of the candy’s shape when they should actually be accepting of it. You know, the way we encourage society to be about people.

The hashtag became even more popular once the company started directly responding to unhappy customers about it.
@J_Van93 Jim, the trees have spoken. They still love you, and they’re still delicious. #AllTreesAreBeautiful

@BlochMatheson If you keep staring at it we swear it will start to look like a tree. Or you could just eat it. #AllTreesAreBeautiful

@akaTrends Our trees are unique (kind of like real ones). They’re also delicious (unlike real ones). #AllTreesAreBeautiful

Witty, funny and clever marketing. Gotta love it.
