Everyone Is Freaking Out Over This Family's Christmas Photo

The most obvious holiday pun to make fun of is “ho ho ho.” But why not take it to the next level with a family photo? Rachel Yoshida, 19, of Florida posted a few family Christmas photos on Imgur, Reddit, and Instagram on Tuesday of her, her older sister Natalie, and her mom with t-shirts that say “Ho” on them while her dad is wearing a t-shirt that says “Chillin’ With My Ho’s.”

Instantly, the photo had over 2 million views in less than a day on Imgur. While some people thought the photo was brilliant (“This is awesome. Good ole family fun time”), others thought it was totally weird and messed up (“As a new father, I can’t imagine a situation when I’d call her a ho. I suppose that changes over time. Or these people are f***ed up”).
Natalie was the mastermind of the idea and told Buzzfeed she came up with the idea a few months ago but didn’t expect her family would be so willing to do it and were down for it.
“All of our immediate friends understand our humor so they think it’s hilarious,” Natalie says. “Not one person who knows us in real life has ‘hated.’ Everyone who is ‘hating’ is seeking offense in an obvious joke.”
Although I’m typically not crazy about the word “ho,” this is a very strange yet clever idea for a family Christmas photo, but it wouldn’t be something I can pull off with my family.
