The search continues for Backroad Anthem singer Craig Strickland, 29, after he and his friend went missing during a duck hunting trip. Strickland’s wife, Helen Wisner, a former Miss Arkansas, has asked fans to keep praying for his return.

Searchers found the capsized boat Strickland and his friend, Chase Morland, 22, were on in a lake in Kay County, Oklahoma early Monday morning. Morland was found dead at the scene, but posted this ominous tweet before he and Strickland went out on Sunday afternoon which reads, “In case we don’t come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. #IntoTheStorm”

Search crews have also found that Strickland’s dog and best friend, Sam, had survived. The rest of the search was suspended on Monday due to bad weather but continued Tuesday morning.
The situation seems quite mysterious – it’s clear from a quick check of Craig’s Twitter account that he is an avid hunter.
Backroad Anthem are an up-and-coming country band from Arkansas. They are definitely getting more and more fans, especially after they opened up for Lee Brice in November.
UPDATE: January 4th, 2016 2:15 PM
7 days after he initially went missing, the search for Strickland has come to a sad ending today, as the singer was found dead. A spokesperson for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed to E! News that Strickland’s body was recovered in Bear Creek Cove and the family has been notified.
Helen Wisner posted this to her Twitter page.
#CraigStrickland was found today. He is safe with his Father in Heaven. Thank you Lord for leading us to him today. I will praise you, Amen.
