Awards Season 2016: Dates & Schedule For 2016 Award Shows

With the first few days of 2016 out of the day, awards season is just around the corner. From the Grammys and the Oscars to the VMAs and People’s Choice, here is the full awards show calendar for 2016.

People’s Choice Awards

On Wednesday, Jan. 6, at 9 p.m. EST, CBS will air their 42nd annual show live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Glee and Angel From Hell actress Jane Lynch will host the event. Other celebrities that will make appearances at the event include Ellen DeGeneres (who will also be accepting an award for Favorite Humanitarian), Jason Derulo, and Shawn Mendes. You can also watch the show on Periscope by following @peopleschoice to watch live. Golden Globes

On Sunday, Jan. 10, Ricky Gervais will take the stage for a fourth time at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles to host the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s show will air live at 8 p.m. EST on NBC. Find out who was nominated here.

Critics’ Choice Awards

On Sunday, Jan. 17, the critics will award the Hollywood’s stars who delivered– in their opinion– the best work in movies throughout 2015. The show will air live on A&E at 8 p.m. EST. Read the full nomination list by clicking here.


Producers Guild Awards

On Saturday, Jan. 23, the 27th annual show will be held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. The ceremony will honor producers’ work in both movies and television.


Screen Actors Guild Awards

On Saturday, Jan 30, the 22nd annual SAG awards will air live on TNT and TBS at 8 p.m. EST. The ceremony will honor theatrical motion pictures, actors, television and stunt ensembles. Learn the full list of nominees here.


American Cinema Editors’ ACE Eddie Awards

Friday, Jan. 29th, the 66th annual ACE Eddie Awards will take place at the Beverly Hilton International Ballroom in Beverly Hills, California. You can purchase your tickets to the event by clicking here.


Art Directors Guild Awards

On Sunday, Jan. 31, the winners of the 20th annual banquet will be announced. The ceremony will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.


Visual Effects Society Awards

On Tuesday, Feb. 2, the 14th annual VES gala will occur. The ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Tickets are still available to purchase.


Directors Guild Awards

On Saturday, Feb. 6, the 68th annual show will take place at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles. Glee and Angel From Hell actress Jane Lynch will host the ceremony for the third consecutive year. The award show will also introduce a brand new category: First-Time Feature Film Director.


Writers Guild Awards

On Saturday, Feb. 13, the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles will host the prestigious, black tie ceremony. View the TV, new media and radio nominees here.


BAFTA Film Awards

On Sunday, Feb. 14, Hollywood’s biggest stars will head overseas to attend the 69th annual British Academy Film Awards at the Royal Opera House in London. The nominations will be announced Friday, Jan. 8.


American Cinematographers Awards

On Sunday, Feb. 14, the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles will host the 30th annual American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) awards.


Grammys

On Monday, Feb. 15, the 58th annual ceremony will air at 8 p.m. EST on CBS. Artists will be recognized with awards such as Album of the Year and Song of the Year at the event. LL Cool J is set to host the event. Check out the full list of nominees here.


Cinema Audio Society Awards

On Saturday, Feb. 20, the best in sound mixing for television and film will be honored by the Cinema Audio Society (CAS). The 52nd annual awards ceremony will be held at the Crystal Ballroom of the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.


Independent Spirit Awards

On Saturday, Feb. 27, independent films and actors will be recognized at the show’s 30th annual event. The show will air live on IFC at 5 p.m. EST. Check out the full list of nominees here.


Academy Awards

On Sunday, Feb. 28, the Oscars will take up its annual residence at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California. While the nominees for the 88th annual ceremony will not be officially announced until Jan. 14, we do know that Chris Rock will be hosting. The show airs live at 7 p.m. EST on ABC.

Kids’ Choice Awards

On Saturday, March 12, Nickelodeon will air its annual kids’ choice awards show. Blake Shelton is set to host the event. Check out a teaser for the show here.


iHeartRadio Music Awards

On Sunday, April 3, the iHeartRadio Music Awards are set to air on TBS, TNT, and TruTV.


Academy of Country Music Awards

On Sunday, April 3, the best in country music will perform and be honored. The 51st annual show will take place live at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley are set to host the event. Fans at home can watch the show at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.


MTV Movie Awards

On Sunday, April 10, MTV will kick off the summer movie season with its annual awards ceremony. No word on a host or nominations just yet.


Peabody Awards

Tony Awards

On Sunday, June 12, the 70th annual show will take place at 8 p.m. EST on CBS. The nominations will be announced on May 3. No word on who will be hosting, but we do know the show will air live from the Beacon Theatre in New York City.


MTV Video Music Awards

On Sunday, Aug. 28, the VMAs will air on MTV.
