You know, as much as I dislike the Kardashian/Jenner family and their antics, Kris Jenner continues to redeem herself to me. I feel almost inclined to fly out to California to give her a high-five on this one.
At the Architects of Change event at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles on Thursday, Maria Shriver asked Jenner about how she felt when she saw “scantily clad” photos of her daughters.
The Momager had one word for it: cringeworthy.
She instantly recalled Kim Kardashian’s controversial #BreakTheInternet magazine cover for Paper. Jenner said:
“Sometimes I don’t even know that they’re coming out. …Kim did the picture with the [champagne coupe] on the booty and I was like, ‘Where did this come from?’ I thought it was Photoshopped for a second.”
We all wish that photo was Photoshopped – or even better – trashed before it hit the presses.
Jenner continued, stating that she has been stricter with 20-years-old Kendall Jenner and 18-years-old Kylie Jenner. She said “I obviously know for the little ones because if they’re underage, we have somebody at every shoot. But the older ones who are in their 30s, I feel like sometimes I don’t have to babysit.”
I’d be a little worried if Jenner thought it necessary to constantly have a babysitter for her 30+ years old daughters. However, despite that Khloe, Kim and Kourtney are technically “adults,” their age doesn’t give them total creative freedom. If Jenner doesn’t like something that any of her daughters have scheduled, she doesn’t quietly fume, she makes it known. She said, “I will scream from the top of my lungs: ‘I’m not happy with this.'”
Just like your Mom!
Jenner herself has been known to bare skin for various photo shoots – and her children react the same way with her. She said, “They’re very critical of me … so we kind of watch out for each other. They just have a different way of doing it, and I think this generation is a little looser with things than I ever was.”
I mean, you’re not wrong, Kris Jenner. Can I come give you that high-five now?
