Look, let’s face it: beauty trends are that much cooler when they glow in the dark. Just when you thought you’ve seen all possible hair trends back in 2015, 2016 is here to prove you wrong.
The blacklight-sensitive hair color has risen in popularity on social media sites such as Tumblr and Instagram in the past week even though the temporary hair dye has been sold available for a while. The color brand, Manic Panic, has been selling the hair dyes that glow under a blacklight since the 1970s and has seen a massive increase in sales thanks to the increasing popularity of the hair trend.
If you search the hashtag #glowonthedarkhair on Instagram, you’ll be barraged with fabulous women and their wonderful arrays of colorful, glowing-in-the-dark hair. You can check out some of my favorites below.
This glow-in-the-dark hair trend is a subtle way to show off your true colors in the classroom or office. Given that it’s a temporary dye, you can change the color your hair glows on a regular basis. If my hair wasn’t dark brown (and I wasn’t terrified of bleaching my hair), I would absolutely dye my hair with these blacklight-sensitive dyes.
