Chelsea’s second attempt at a show on E! proved to be her most successful: Chelsea Lately. The late night talk show premiered on July 7. 2007. For her work on the show, Chelsea made $10 million a year.

In 2008, Chelsea released her second book Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea. The book went on to hit the top of the New York Times Nonfiction Best Seller List in May 2008 with a print run of more than 350,000. Chelsea’s third book, Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang, hit number one on the New York Times Nonfiction Hardback Bestseller list in March 2010.

In November 2010, Chelsea was given her own publishing imprint, Borderline Amazing/A Chelsea Handler Book, as well a three-book deal with the imprint. Her first book with the imprint, Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me, was released in May 2011 and hit the top of the bestseller list.

Chelsea was also placed on Maxim‘s Hot 100 for two years in a row, ranking #91 in 2009 and #87 in 2010. She was also #98 on Forbes Celebrity 100 as well as #33 on Forbes Power Women in 2010. She also appeared on two covers of Playboy magazine in December 2009, the cover of Shape in April 2010, and the cover of The Hollywood Reporter in June 2011.

In early 2014, Chelsea released her next book Uganda Be Kidding Me, which was number one on the New York Times Best Seller list for two weeks. The stand up show of her book, Uganda Be Kidding Me: Live, was released on Netflix in October 2014.

After seven seasons and 1,048 episodes, the final episode of Chelsea Lately aired on August 26, 2014.

The same month, Chelsea made $10 million with a deal for Netflix. The deal included creating the documentary series Chelsea Does on Netflix. The series was released in January 2016 and consisted of four episodes based on marriage, Silicon Valley, racism, and drugs.

With the series out on Netflix and, hopefully, another hilarious book in the near future, this funny lady’s net worth is sure to increase as the year progresses.

2016 – 2017

Although she hasn’t graced us with another book yet, Chelsea continues to host her talk show on Netflix. The show received mixed to negative reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and maintains an average 27% approval rating. According to a site critic, “Chelsea comes up short in its attempts to innovate the conventional talk show format — and even worse, it frequently fails to be smart or funny”.

Despite this, however, the show announced that is was renewed for another 90 episode second season. It is scheduled to air in April 2017.

Blaming the NRA for the heinous school shooting in Marshall County, Chelsea Handler warned students not to go to school if they don’t want to get shot.
