He’s no superhero in real life. But, to us, he might as well be.

His success in movies such as Fantastic Four and Captain America have made Chris a household name in the realm of superhero films, which, of course, has made him such a highly paid celebrity. So how much is this celebrity worth?
Chris Evans Net Worth As of 2018: $40 Million
Here’s how Chris made his millions.
After appearing in movies such as Not Another Teen Movie, Orphan King, The Perfect Score, and Cellular, Chris’s first breakthrough role in the world of superhero movies was as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch in Fantastic Four. The movie was released July 8, 2005 and made over $330 million in the box office, despite mostly negative reviews. Chris would reprise the role in the movie’s sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer two years later.
Chris also appeared in several movies including The Nanny Diaries opposite future Avengers co-star Scarlett Johansson in 2007, Push opposite Dakota Fanning in 2009, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World in 2010.
Chris’s second and most notable superhero movie role was as Steve Rogers/Captain America in Captain America: The First Avenger. The movie was released July 22, 2011 and made over $370 million at the box office as well as receiving a 79% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. For his first appearance in the role, Chris was paid $300,000. He would continue to portray Captain America in several Marvel movies and Captain America sequels including The Avengers in 2012, Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014 (which also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Visual Effects), and Avengers: Age Of Ultron in 2015. For his appearances as Captain America, Chris made $3.2 million for The Winter Soldier and $6.9 million for Age of Ultron. The Age of Ultron movie itself made over $1.4 billion in the box office worldwide, making it the seventh-highest-grossing movie of all time and the fourth-highest-grossing film of 2015.
In 2014, Chris put his $1.4 million house in Hollywood Hills up on the market. He originally bought the home back in March 2007 for $1.2 million.
Chris was among the highest-grossing actors in 2014 to appear in films that brought in more than $800 million in the box office. His salary that year was $4 million. In 2015, he made $4.7 million.
Chris also made an additional $1 million for endorsement deals. His monthly salary is around $510,000 and yearly salary is around $9 million.
Aside from his acting credits, Chris also took a crack at directing a movie (in addition to starring in the movie), 1:30 Train, opposite Alice Eve. The film was later retitled Before We Go and released on demand in September 2015. However, the film received negative reviews, earning a 25% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The next Captain America installment, Captain America: Civil War, is set to be released May 6, 2016. He is expected to make $5.4 million in 2016. This next installment of the Captain America franchise as well as the next two Avengers installments (Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 in May 2018 and Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2 in May 2019) are sure to boost this hero’s net worth by quite a lot within the next few years. Evil doers, beware.
2016 – 2017
Evans made big bucks in 2016. Captain America: Civil War grossed $1.15 billion worldwide, surpassing its predecessor Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It also became the highest-grossing film of 2016. Evans was nominated for his roles in Marvel movies multiple times in 2016. During the MTV Movie Awards and the Critics’ Choice Awards he was nominated for Best Hero and Best Actor in an Action Movie, and even won Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy during the Teen Choice Awards for Captain America: Civil War.
But Evans isn’t only focusing on Marvel films. He is also set to star as Frank Adler in the movie Gifted, which will be released April 12, 2017.
According to Chris Evans, he is not often recognized as Captain America as you think.
