Adele Spent The Entire Day After The Grammys Crying Over Her Technical Difficulties Performance

Usually a performance by Adele goes off with a note missed, but that just wasn’t the case during her song at the 2016 Grammys on Monday night.

Adele explained what happened in a series of tweets: turns out that the microphone inside the piano fell onto the strings, making the piano sound strange.

Apparently that trip to In-N-Out burger didn’t totally make her feel better because the British singer admitted that she shed a few tears over the mishap during an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Adele explained that sound check “was great, went really well,” but while singing “All I Ask” live during the ceremony, she knew things had gone wrong. “I was really excited, and then during the changeover, the microphones fell onto the piano strings which is what the guitar noise was,” she said. “Some people thought it was [Justin] Bieber rehearsing, but it wasn’t him. We’re on great terms. And then it kind of put the whole thing off really.”

Embarrassed, Adele admitted that she cried over it, but she also admits she would have cried if she nailed it. Whatever – who doesn’t need a good cry?

Check out the full interview with Ellen below (and can we just go get a glass of wine with this girl soon? She’s so damn cool).
