Every season on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, there’s an appearance by our friend Neil Lane. The famed jeweler shows up with some rings and lets a clueless guy try to pick out one for a girl he met approximately 11 minutes ago.
Turns out, Ben Higgins scored.
The engagement ring Ben picked out for Lauren Bushnell, better known to us as Lauren B., is 4.25 carats and estimated to be worth between $95,000 and $100,000. Of course, Ben didn’t pay a penny for it, and I’m assuming The Bachelor didn’t either. Just look at the zoom on that Neil Lane logo! According to Wet Paint, “Neil Lane is a sponsor of ABC’s The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, so it’s likely that, as part of their sponsorship, the jeweler to the stars graciously donates the engagement ring in the event that one is offered during the final rose ceremony.”
“I sat down with Neil Lane and had a couple ideas of what I wanted to pick out, and then he kind of asked about Lauren,” Ben told ABC News. “He said, ‘Which ring here catches your eye first?’ and I looked down and that was the ring.”
Probably because it’s enormous?

The square-cut diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds was not my first choice – a bit tacky IMO – but Lauren seems thrilled with it.
“I hadn’t given much thought to the kind of ring I wanted but I can’t stop looking at my finger,” she told ABC News. “It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
Well, she’s not going to say it’s ugly.
Despite the major price tag, Ben’s ring is not the most expensive Neil Lane ring to appear on the series. Last year, Kaitlyn Bristowe got a 3.5 carat diamond and platinum Neil Lane stunner that was estimated by People magazine to be worth about $150,000.
Let’s just hope JoJo Fletcher‘s suitor has better taste in jewelry.
