With great power comes great responsibility, but it looks like the Batman V Superman crew messed up big time.
From the looks of the 30% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the mega-superhero movie starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill is going to be a total bust. Critics slammed the film…which cost an estimated $410 million to make.
During an interview, Ben and Henry were asked about the poor reviews. While Henry tried to defend the film, Ben Affleck was hit with a dose of reality.
Wondering what Henry was saying? A bunch of bull, really.
“We get the critics who have their personal opinions,” Cavill told Yahoo UK. “The thing about personal opinions is they always come from a place and there’s a preconceived idea which you have to get past, the critic, before you start writing your article or your review and that affects everything.”
He continued, “What is really going to matter, I believe, is what the audience says. They are the ones who are buying the tickets.”
All Ben had to add was, “I agree.”
The movie opened to audiences last night at midnight, so we’ll see…but it doesn’t look promising.
Hey, at least you can go home and cry to your Oscar, Ben. It’ll be okay.
