Kesha is once again standing up for herself, even if it’s hurting her career.

Today, the singer took to Instagram with a selfie and a confession that Sony offered her “freedom” from her record contract if she took back her claims that she was raped by producer Dr. Luke.

“so. I got offered my freedom IF i were to lie. I would have to APOLOGIZE publicly and say that I never got raped. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS behind closed doors. I will not take back the TRUTH. I would rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again.”

I’m giving Kesha a standing ovation for staying strong. All she wants to do is make music, but it shouldn’t be at the price of her reputation. You go, girl.

In February, a New York Supreme Court Justice denied Kesha’s injunction request. The judge also noted that nullifying the original record deal would “undermine the state’s laws governing contracts.”
