It’s been a big week for pregnancies and baby news.
Multiple sources have confirmed that Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling are preparing to become parents again.
Mendes first became a mother in 2014, when the couple’s daughter, Esmeralda Amada, was born. Rumors began to circulate about the couple’s second child after Mendes was spotted trying to hide a potential baby bump during a photo shoot in Los Angeles, according to the Toronto Sun.
The duo began dating back in 2011 after meeting on the set of the film, The Place Beyond the Pines.
Gosling and Mendes managed to keep their first pregnancy a secret for several months. A source close to Mendes explained that the actress “just hasn’t ever wanted anyone beyond her close friends and family knowing more than they had to. And Ryan is certainly private and always has been.”
Frankly, I don’t blame Mendes.
The couple have kept Esmeralda out of the public eye since her birth. However, a source told People that Gosling is “madly in love” with his 19-month-old daughter and Mendes is thrilled to be a mother.
“[Mendes has] never been happier,” the source said. “She and Ryan are just in awe of this beautiful person they created. It’s a really special time for them.”
Congratulations, Eva and Ryan!
