Remember when Kanye West said this?

Whoops!
Kanye West and Tidal are being hit with a lawsuit by a fan who says he was tricked into subscribing to the streaming service in order to listen to West’s new album, The Life Of Pablo.
In addition to West declaring that the album would “never never never be on Apple,” he also made a special call out to his fans to “please subscribe to Tidal.”
According to the Associated Press, Justin Baker-Rhett filed a class-action lawsuit against Kanye West and Tidal on Monday in the U.S. District Court in San Francisco. He is requesting that Tidal removes all information collected on users who subscribed to listen to The Life Of Pablo.
Since the release of the record, The Life Of Pablo has been made available for streaming via Apple Music and Spotify. Baker-Rhett’s attorney issued a statement about the lawsuit on Monday. He said:
“We fully support the right of artists to express themselves freely and creatively, however creative freedom is not a license to mislead the public. We believe that we will be able to prove to a jury that Mr. West and Tidal tricked millions of people into subscribing to their services and that they will ultimately be held accountable for what they did.”
The lawsuit claims that West’s initial decision to exclusively release The Life of Pablo on Tidal gave the music streaming service an additional two million subscribers.
Kanye West has yet to comment on the lawsuit shockingly. I suppose it’s only a matter of time.
