New App Determines Whether Your Relationship is Going to Last & This Girl Put It to The Test

If you’ve ever wondered WTF you were doing in your relationship, you’re not alone. To question where things are going is normal, especially if your SO isn’t giving you what you need. Chatting about your issues with your mom and friends tends to help, but would you ever trust an app to give you the answer you’re looking for?

StayGo is a new phone program that claims to use “science” to predict whether or not your current relationship will last. Sounds sketchy, right? That’s because it totally is. Users answers a series of questions about you and your significant other — like how you first met, the number of hours you communicate on a daily basis, and how often you see each other — and from there, the app announces its prediction. Sounds about as legitimate as the iPhone thermometer — it’s literally just for show.

The app apparently uses a series of algorithms to determine a score out of 100. From there, users get a thorough assessment of how the future looks.

FEMAIL writer Kate Samuelson put the app to the test with her relationship of four and a half years. According to The Daily Mail, the overall message was rather offensive.

At the end of the quiz she was given a relationship rating of 69 per cent – and told that if she wanted something better than average then she and Tom had ‘some work to do’.

Kate and Tom scored highly for closeness, partner responsiveness and supportiveness – but less well on self-centredness, dealing with stress and negative daily behaviours.

Although some of the app’s assessment was fairly spot on, it did make some extreme – and potentially offensive – statements.

These included: ‘It’s time to change things up and enjoy life… because right now your relationship with Tom is filled with too much negativity’ and ‘Wow. It sounds like Tom really thinks he is the centre of the universe. With all that self-love, does he really have any left over for you?’.

I mean, come on — if your boyfriend is self-absorbed, he’s self-absorbed. Might as well know early right? Tough loves sells, just ask my mother.

To add an additional element of authenticity, people who know you can also comment on your relationship profile anonymously, making the final rating seem even more legitimate.

So maybe you should start planning that subtle breakup… just in case.
